We had an amazing experience at this fantastic nature retreat! The service was beyond exceptional, especially from Yon, who made our stay memorable. The pick up service was timely and comfortable, and they even carried our luggage up difficult steps in the rain. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated for our honeymoon. The views of the lake were breathtaking, and the natural hot spring pool was perfect for relaxing. The owner went above and beyond to organize activities and ensure our comfort. The food was delicious, except for the fried chicken. we loved this place and highly recommend it!

For the price we paid, we definitely got our money's worth. The room was basic but clean, and the common bathrooms were well-maintained. The location was ideal for the Mount Batur trekking, and the owner, Jon, was incredibly helpful in organizing it for us at a fair price. The staff were friendly and the hot pool added a great touch to our experience after the trek.
The breakfast could have been better, with more options on the menu to choose from.

I recently stayed at the Black Lava Hostel in Kintamani for a couple of nights. The location of the hostel is perfect for those who enjoy trekking, as it is situated near the starting point of the hike. The staff at the hostel were incredibly helpful and friendly, making me feel right at home. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with beds that were much appreciated after a tiring day of hiking. The highlight of my stay was definitely the hot spring jacuzzi with its stunning views of the lake. The hostel also had a restaurant that served delicious Indonesian food and a 24-hour hot spring, which was perfect for relaxation. I highly recommend this hotel.
I would recommend this hotel.

The beds in both the dorm and private rooms were really comfortable, and the rooms were bright and airy. The bathroom facilities were good, and the hostel had a cool decor. The sunrise hike, starting just down from the hostel, was such a memorable experience. I stayed at Black Lava Hostel for 2 nights, mainly to do the Mount Batur hike. The location is away from the village, with great views of the lake. The beds are comfy and the rooms are airy with lake views. The bathroom facilities are good and the hostel has a cool decor. The sunrise hike starts nearby and includes wake up calls, coffee, and breakfast. The owner is attentive and can help with arranging transportation and activities. The hostel is currently adding a yoga platform and camping area.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

The view from our room was breathtaking, with the mountains and lake in full glory. We loved sitting outside and taking in the beauty of the surroundings. The gardens were well-maintained and added to the overall charm. We were pleasantly surprised to find hot water and complimentary tea and coffee.
The kitchen was not up to cleanliness standards, so we decided not to eat there. The fan in our room didn't provide any cooling, and the gaps in the doors, windows, and roof made it difficult to keep insects out.

The location of the hostel was perfect for our romantic escape. We were able to start the trek to Mt Batur directly from the hostel, which saved us the hassle of traveling to another location. The views of the surrounding area were absolutely breathtaking, especially during the sunrise trek. We also loved the hot pool, it was a great way to relax and enjoy the stunning views.
There were a few minor issues that we encountered during our stay. The privacy in the bathroom was a bit lacking, as the sides of the toilet doors were see-through.
